Awesome Fly Fishing Blog

A Fly Fishing Blog with fly fishing tips, stories, general life, hunting and humour – Chronicles of Cod.

Chronicles of Cod - by Aaron Caldwell

I have a few sites that I routinely peruse in the morning while I have my coffee. One of the best is by a friend, Aaron Caldwell, called Chronicles of Cod. The Chronicles receives steady updates for a while, then goes dark, then comes back up. Lots of great fly fishing tips hidden in among some other entertaining content following Aaron on fishing trips and work through the US, Cuba, BC, Alberta, etc. Be sure to check out the comments section of the blog for input from Senor2 and Aaron’s Aunt Helen – important and hilarious contributors to the site.

It’s been ages since I’ve had the chance to keep routine updates and this year has been more focused around updating the infrastructure here – so I wanted to pass this along so you might at least get a chance to see this if you haven’t already.

Enjoy!

East Slope Cutthroat Fly Fishing

A quick and simple fly fishing video I made in the Fall featuring a Cutthroat Trout. I hiked past this fish out in the Alberta Rocky Mountains a few different times and never had a rod with me. Finally, took the time to hike back in with my rod and make a cast. He would always sit under the bush to the left and was consistently happy (loved to eat dry flies).

Fly Fishing The Bow River 2010

An old friend, Aaron Caldwell, put this fun video together – thought it might lift some of the winter blues. Some fun catch and release fly fishing on the Bow River. Aaron has created a few other great fly fishing videos including a nice saltwater fly fishing video based in Cuba.

So much of the river has changed since the 2013 flood in southern Alberta. Fishing started to improve this past season and hopefully it keeps getting better and we get a quick bounce back.
