Vermont Fly Box Review

The Vermont Fly Box Company Review
If I were to say that the appeal of fly fishing had nothing to do with it’s aesthetics, I’d be stretching the truth quite a bit. Watching the sun rise, the thrill of seeing trout sipping mayflies, laying out a nice soft cast on a small stream, the splash of a wild trout as it swims away after release…. These images are beautiful to the point of distraction for most avid fly fisherman.

So then, it is little surprise that I was almost speechless when I opened the package from Vermont Flybox Company. Heirloom quality, fully functional fly boxes manufactured in Vermont using ONLY hardwoods found in that state. This might be a problem. Do I load it up with fishing flies, or tie some "perfect" flies and hang it up in the den? Well, I consider myself a tackle user~not a collector so I carefully pinned a pile of flies into it and retired one of my plastic boxes. The only downside I’ve discovered…….(if you can call it that)…I lose some precious fishing time with each fly change admiring the thing! Its pretty easy to feel that way about one of these boxes.
